Haaallppp!

I’ve signed up to bring the main dish to a potluck this Sunday, and I’m not sure what to bring. One person is bringing tabbouleh and Arabic cabbage rolls, which will be made with rice and ground beef. Others are bringing a salad, bread, and dessert.

What goes well with tabbouleh and cabbage rolls, people? Since the rolls have some meat in them, should I avoid a meat dish? The tabbouleh will be the starch, so pasta is out. I don’t think I would want to do a red meat, would I? I never do fish unless I know folks will like it, and I don’t know the food preferences of this crowd. I’m leaning toward something chicken, I think, but at this point I’ll take any and all suggestions … Haalllpppp! Puh-lease!!

Hey, Paz, thanks so much for dropping by and giving this some thought. I don't need to worry about vegetarianism with this crowd, and you're right, I have no clue how she makes her tabbouleh! But then, most of us could do with fewer carbs, so if there's none at dinner it will compensate for what I'm certain will be a fabulous Southern dessert, not to mention the bread, eh!

I'm giving some consideration to The Barefoot Contessa's Indonesian ginger chicken. To die for, and I think the flavor is pretty compatible with lots of other things ...

I was going to put a link to your blog on my sidebar, but recalled your comments about considering whether you should be cutting back on blogging time. So let me know if you'd like to have the (teeny bit of) extra advertising at this point in time!

Hey, mll, nice to hear from you! Yes, your midwestern roots are showing through ... time for a touchup? :o) Get it? Roots showing?

Like you said, I should stick to cooking.

My, my, my, a bit sensitive, aren't we? I was just commenting that Midwesterners like beef! Sheesh!

I think you're a fabulous cook! Honest!!
